Only a fingerprint of your bid goes on-chain until the reveal. You can change it until bidding closes.
How it works, and what you trust
- Register: everyone pays the same deposit (the bid cap) into the auction's pot on Solana, so deposits say nothing about bids.
- Seal a bid: in the MagicBlock rollup you post only a hash of your bid and a secret salt (derived from your player key, nothing to save). Nobody can read it.
- Reveal: after bidding closes, this page reveals your bid; the program checks it against the hash. A sealed bid never revealed loses 10% of the deposit, shared by those who revealed, so nobody can wait and see others' bids before deciding.
- Result: the highest revealed bid wins and pays its bid (first price; ties go to the earlier registration). The rollup ends the auction and the pot's return pays every seat: the seller the price, everyone else their deposit back. The auction account stays on Solana as the certificate.
- All bids are public after the reveal. Bidders are player keys, never linked to a Zcash wallet; money comes in and leaves as shielded ZEC.
